Sarnia, ON — A renewed and expanded regional collaboration has taken shape to strengthen business support and drive economic development across Lambton County. The Lambton Business Collaborative (LBC) brings together non-profit, economic development, and municipal partners with a shared mandate to address business challenges, foster collaboration, and create opportunities for growth.
The LBC is presenting two events in April that will provide local businesses with timely economic insights and access to practical resources.
April 8, 2025 – Navigating Tariffs: Financing Solutions for Impacted Businesses (webinar)
As businesses across Lambton County continue to face uncertainty related to international trade and tariffs, the LBC will host a virtual session on Monday, April 8, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. This free webinar will feature insights from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and offer actionable information for businesses affected by the current trade environment. Presented in partnership with BDC, the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce, and the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce, the Lambton Business Collaborative is hosting Economic Outlook 2025: Navigating the Unknown on Monday, April 14, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at Four Points by Sheraton, Point Edward, ON. Featuring keynote speaker Pierre Cléroux, Vice President, Research and Chief Economist at BDC, the event will provide attendees with data-driven insights on economic trends, business challenges, and emerging opportunities. “The LBC is actively working to bring together the entirety of the economic development ecosystem across Lambton County so that we can proactively and reactively develop and provide resourcing and advocacy for businesses and industries that need it most,” said Shauna Carr, Chair of the Lambton Business Collaborative. “A priority focus at this time is on providing programming to assist in minimizing the impacts of the ongoing tariff and international trade situation, while actively creating opportunities to actively engage with those who are most burdened by the realities of cross-border business to ensure LBC partners are informed and ready to assist.”
In addition to these events, the LBC is finalizing plans for a Tariffs and International Trade Forum, which is anticipated for early May. The forum will provide a platform for businesses to share experiences and help shape regional advocacy and support strategies.
