Supported by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), the OVIN Technology Pilot Zones provide small- and medium-sized enterprises up to $100,000 to pilot automotive and mobility technologies for urban transportation in Toronto and cross-border mobility in Windsor and Sarnia.
The OVIN Technology Pilot Zones Respond to the evolving needs of the automotive and mobility sector, with an emphasis on Zero-Emission Vehicles (ZEV) and Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), in line with Canada’s vision of a net-zero future.
TECHNOLOGY PILOT ZONES
Cross-Border Mobility
Located in Windsor/Sarnia, the Cross-Border zones focus on advanced mobility solutions that aim to improve the movement of people and goods at international border crossings.
Piloting environments: Windsor-Detroit Tunnel and Blue Water Bridge.

Urban Transportation
Located in Toronto, the Urban Transportation Zone focuses on addressing urban mobility challenges, such as road congestion, dated infrastructure, rapid urbanization, accessibility, and more.
