Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership Appoints Matthew Slotwinski as CEO

Sarnia, ON – The Board of Directors of the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) is pleased to announce the official appointment of Matthew Slotwinski as Chief Executive Officer. Matthew has been serving as the interim CEO for the past six months and brings over 13 years of dedicated service and extensive experience with SLEP to this role.

There is an opportunity for SLEP to take on a heightened leadership role in advancing transformational economic opportunity for the Sarnia-Lambton area, its industry, its entrepreneurs and its workforce, and I’m looking forward to the challenge of building on the great work of the SLEP team in collaboration with our partner stakeholders and municipalities,” said Matthew Slotwinski in a statement.

Matthew’s tenure at Sarnia Lambton Economic Partnership has seen him hold various critical roles, such as interim CEO in 2017 and most recently as the Vice President of Economic Development. Matthew has helped the Sarnia-Lambton Hybrid Chemistry Cluster, Ontario’s Hydrogen Hub, and Sarnia-Lambton Energy & Chemistry Cluster gain international recognition, attracting new investment and employment to the Sarnia-Lambton area. He has also previously worked with the Business Enterprise Centre of Sarnia-Lambton, advising entrepreneurs and creating programming for local business owners.

Matthew graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) program after completing his Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph, specializing in Public Management. He has obtained a Certificate in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo and Economic Developers Associations of Canada and was named one of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers (2021) by Consultant Connect.
