Sarnia, ON
– The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership is proud to recognize Shell Sarnia Manufacturing Center’s (SMC) Projects team and their partners for their outstanding achievement in winning the 2024 Best Site Award from the International Benchmarking Consortia (IBC) of Independent Project Analysis (IPA). This award is a reflection of our community’s exceptional local talent and commitment to excellence in project management.

“This award is not only a testament to the exceptional capabilities of the Shell SMC team but also underscores the strength and expertise found within Sarnia-Lambton across both industry and the industrial support ecosystem that allows for these projects to succeed,” said Matthew Slotwinski, CEO of the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership.

The International Benchmarking Consortia (IBC) from IPA is a globally recognized authority in project evaluation, providing rigorous and independent assessments of project performance. IPA’s Best Site Award is given annually and highlights exemplary project execution and management.

“This prestigious award is given annually to only one site globally, so we’re exceptionally proud to have been named Best Site,” said Daniel Tardif, Shell project award recipient. Daniel pointed out that all Shell SMC employees and a broad group of core contract partners also deserve recognition, including CMS Inc., Worley Limited, Tecsar Engineering Inc., Kent PLC, and all Shell’s construction contractors.

“The award-winning collaboration between Shell and its local partners reflects the cooperative spirit and excellence that has always defined our community. We first connected with CMS – who notified us of this award won by Shell SMC and shared with their collaborators – through our Business Retention and Expansion program where we actively engage with local businesses to understand and assist with their needs, challenges, growth, and in this case, opportunities to recognize achievements,” added Slotwinski.

The Shell Sarnia Manufacturing Center Projects team competed against 19 other sites, representing 12 companies worldwide, including large competitors.
