Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) Joins Ontario Manufacturing Communities Alliance (OMCA)

Sarnia, ON — The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) is proud to announce its membership in the Ontario Manufacturing Communities Alliance (OMCA), a province-wide partnership of economic development organizations dedicated to advancing Ontario’s manufacturing sector and driving investment opportunities.

The OMCA brings together agencies, municipalities and economic development organizations across Ontario with a shared vision to attract new manufacturing investment to the province. By pooling resources and sharing expertise, OMCA members gain access to a larger pool of investment opportunities and are better equipped to compete in a global market. “We are glad to welcome Sarnia-Lambton as a new member of the OMCA”, says Jack Adams, OMCA Chair, and a representative from London Economic Development Corporation. “By having a membership of strong manufacturing-based municipalities, the alliance has seen collaboration fuel significant investment potential, to the benefit of all participating regions and Ontario as a whole.”

Joining the OMCA aligns with the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership’s mission to foster economic growth and create sustainable opportunities for local businesses and residents. Through this partnership, SLEP will expand investment opportunities to attract manufacturing companies seeking strategic locations for growth, streamline efforts, and maximize the impact of investment attraction campaigns. Furthermore, this collaboration enhances Sarnia-Lambton’s position as a prime destination for manufacturing companies by showcasing its world-class infrastructure, skilled workforce, and robust business ecosystem.

“Membership in the OMCA is a significant step forward for Sarnia-Lambton,” said Matthew Slotwinski, CEO of SLEP. “This collaboration enables us to position our region as a leading destination for manufacturing investment, leveraging the collective strength of other world-class manufacturing-centric municipalities and economic development agencies across Ontario to drive economic growth and create jobs for our residents.”

As part of the OMCA, Sarnia-Lambton gains access to a network of municipalities working collaboratively to identify and secure manufacturing investment opportunities. This partnership benefits the local economy by maximizing the potential for the organization to attract high-value manufacturing projects to the region, supporting the growth of local businesses and suppliers through increased economic activity, and strengthening the region’s reputation as a hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing.
